RE: Dually vs. Single Rear Wheel

Get the maximum gross weight for that 38', could need a 4500/450.

RE: Michelin or B.F. Goodrich tires for travel trailer

Humpty, How long have you been running the TAs, and how many miles on them? I am also thinking of the TAs for both TV and 5er.

RE: truck tires on a camper?

The typical LT tire has a slightly lower max weight rate than the same load range and size in an ST tire.

RE: "Pool Boys" , gentleman farmers and Gardeners rejoyce!

Sitting alongside my dually is a 70 ElCamino that Dad bought new, 300hp 350ci and 300k miles. It's NOT for sale.

RE: 2001 Shamrock blows tires

If those were ST (special trailer) tires, they are speed rated for 65mph.

RE: Might buy a diesel...HELP

Don't neglect a long look at the GM Duramax/Allison, and I drive a Ford.

RE: Upgrading Towing Question

Is that dodge a 2500 or 3500?
That's a lot of pin weight for a 2500. With your golf cart and loaded for use, you may have a 16k load.

RE: Low point drains?

Usually can locate low point drains by looking for 2 short pieces of water pipe hanging down from bottom of RV. One drain each for the hot and cold water lines. Above these drains is a valve (usually pull knob up to open valve).
These will drain water from everything but hot water tank, probably have to open faucets to allow water to flow.

RE: MPG SRW Compair to Dually

As a general rule, DRW will have a lower gear ratio than SRW. This can lower mpg a little unloaded, may actually improve mpg under load. Way to many variables to make a blanket statement.

RE: 08 chevrolet 2500 6 inch lift

The question often asked is about having enough bed rail clearance with 08 GM HDs at stock height (they are 2in higher than previous models).
With a 6in lift you would be looking at an axle flip and probably more. IMO, lower the truck to at least stock height, maybe even 2in below stock.

RE: steps too short for comfort

I had a step that I made 18" X 30", used 2X6 for frame and decking for surface. When traveling blocks, wheel chocks and small misc. items rode inside it in the back of PU.

Dicor lap Seal Removal

I need to remove some screws in the roof, they are buried in lap seal. How do I remove that seal without damage to adjacent rubber roof?

RE: Dealer going out of business. Do you pick up your trailer?

If he has signed a contract and/or money has changed hands, he probably owns the trailer and had better get it off of lot before the gates are locked. He then needs to seek legal advice about delivery conditions, manufacturer might be of some help.

RE: King Ranch gear ratio

IMHO the 6.4 PSD is not an economy engine, ran with a friend's 08 F350 with 3:73 gears, he was getting 9.2 mpg while towing around 12K. My 7.3 PSD with 4:10s was getting 11.3 and I was towing 13.5k.

RE: King Ranch gear ratio

4:30 comes with the Tow Boss option, or by special order. The 3:73 will do for some towing, my 01 with the 7.3 and 4:10 will out accelerate the 6.4 with 3:73 (if acceleration means anything to you).

RE: Best price on Honda 2000

I took Trailer Life magazine with its multiple Honda ads to my local Honda dealer and he matched that price (he'll also be much happier if I ever need to have it serviced/repaired),
